500 Feet Tall Greece’s Colossus of Rhodes

Posted by: admin , April 2, 2017

Do you know Greece’s Colossus of Rhodes? It is one of the lost wonders of the ancient world. The original Colossus of Rhodes was believed to be 100 feet tall. Recently, a group of architects want to rebuild it BIGGER.

The BIGGER one would be nearly 500 feet and straddle the harbor. It looks a lot like the Titan of Braavos from “Games of Thrones”.

The outer part of the structure would be made of gold solar panels while the interior would house a cultural center, library, and lighthouse.

Previously, the original structure was destroyed by an earthquake. The new purposed structure would be earthquake-proof. Two different structures without coming in contact each other, protecting the building from earthquakes and wind forces.

The team is trying to raise $270 million to make the project a reality soon.
