Nowadays, smog in China is out of control. The new anti-smog regulations will take years to make a difference. So how can people’s breathing be helped today.
A new approach to easing China’s smog is on the way. High rise buildings covered with trees and plants called ‘vertical forest’. 8 million residents of Nanjing will have cleaner air by 2018 from two vertical forests with 1,100 trees and 2,500 shrubs and plants designed by Italian Stefano Boeri.
One forest covered building will be a hotel. The other will have a museum, offices, and a green architecture school.
The two towers will absorb 25 tons of carbon dioxide each year and give Nanjing residents clean oxygen within their living space. So, Chongqing residents get ready for cleaner air. You are next on the developers list. Good luck.
