This Robotic fruit bat can fly like the real animal. It has an impressive wingspan of 7.5 feet and only weighs 1.3 lbs. The flying robotic bat model is created by Festo, a German bionic tech firm, after Fruit bat (or flying foxes), which are exceptional aerialists.
However, this robotic bat is semiautonomous as it needs a human for take off and landing. While flying, it uses infrared cameras on the ground that connected to infrared sensors on the bat’s legs and wing tips to track its motion around the room.
Festo is known for its nature-inspired robots. So, this bat is yet another addition to their growing animal kingdom in the future.
