In the future, you could float through Chicago in this transparent cable car. It is a 17 story high translucent body which provides you with a 360 degree view of the city. The project is called Chicago Skyline, a planned environmentally-friendly tourist project proposed by Davis Brody Bond.
Each aerial gondola carries up to 12 people at around 14km/h (9mph). It will run at least 2km (1.4 mil) from downtown Chicago to the Navy Pier. The privately funded $250 million project aims to attract 1.4 million more tourists a year. Chicago Skyline would transport 3,000 people per hour, by encouraging visitors to explore the city without using cars.
