Are there any tools for automatic summarizing an article or long essay? The answer is yes. In fact, a Microsoft Office Word program can do it.
Many of us didn’t know that that is actually an option called “AutoSummary Tools” in Microsoft Office Word which can help us to highlight and assemble key points of a long article document. For example, when a student do not have sufficient time to read a the whole article, the AutoSummarize tool can be used to quickly read an abstract of it.
While some of you may want to do a summary of an assignment, your teachers or lecturers have particular needs that require the main point of the summary, you can create a summary using this feature and edit it later on. In addition, you could choose the percentage of the original content to maintain before summarizing your document. The tool is also very useful for summarizing a news.
From the right top of your MS Word, in the Word Options dialog box, under the “Customize” tab, select to add the AutoSummary Tools and then click OK. The AutoSummary Tools command is now added to the Quick Access toolbar where you can use it to summarize your article in few clicks.
