If you have already or accidentally sent a Facebook friend request to someone but for a long time, that person did not accept your friend request. Afterward, you realized that you want to cancel the friend you have added due to long time pending request that means nothing to you. How can you solve this?
Sorry to tell you that Facebook currently does not have a button for you to cancel a friend request, however here is an alternative way you can do it!
First, log on to your Facebook account, search for the person you have added where Friend Requested is still under pending, it shows Awaiting Friend Confirmation under that person’s profile page. This can be done by typing the person’s name in the search box.
Go to Account, Privacy Settings at the top of your homepage. Click on Privacy Settings. Find for an option that shows Block Lists. Click on Edit your lists.
Type in the name or email of someone you have sent a pending friend request previously. Then, click on Block This User. The person is now blocked from your account.
Don’t worry, Facebook will never let your friends know that you have temporarily “blocked” and “unblocked” them.
Later, repeats the steps where you have blocked that person by typing their name in the box again to unblock them.
Now, the pending friend request will be disappeared from that person’s profile page that you have either sent an invitation friend request or friend request through the Add as Friend button before.
Done! Congratulation on canceling a friend request that you have sent to your friend before.
