You’re working in front of your PC rushing to complete the work which will be on the deadline soon. Suddenly, your mouse stops working! Well, the first reaction you will have is probably to start worrying. You wish you can control the mouse in your PC screen or you want to get a new mouse!
Do you know that Windows users can use num pad (numbers from 1 to 9) on the keyboard to control their mouse pointer?
First, you will have to turn on the mouse keys on your keyboard first.
How to Turn ON MouseKeys on your keyboard?
- Press Left ALT + Left SHIFT + Num Lock altogether at once. A small MouseKeys box will be displayed.
- Click OK to enable the MouseKeys. Once enabled, you can control your mouse pointer using the numeric keypad on your keyboard. By clicking on Settings, under Mouse tab, you can control your mouse’s pointer speed by adjusting Top speed and Acceleration. You can also hold down CTRL to speed up and SHIFT to slow down.
- Now, start moving the mouse pointer using the keys on the num pad of your keyboard (numbers from 1 to 9). Once you have reached the right direction, press the ENTER key.
In Summary:
To keep MouseKeys on, click OK.
To cancel MouseKeys, click Cancel.
To deactivate the key combination for MouseKeys, click Settings.
Besides, there is another way you can use to enable or disable this feature:
Go to your Control Panel, choose the Accessibility Options. Select on the Mouse tab and check Use MouseKeys. Click OK. Uncheck it if you want to disable your MouseKeys.
