By default, many video players didn’t clearly show you the thumbnail photos of a video, to ensure the sample video contents are available to users. Movie Thumbnailer is a free application allows you to make sequential thumbnails from video clips. This software uses libavcodec as its engine, therefore all popular codecs, eg. divx h264 mpeg1 mpeg2 mp4 vc1 wmv xvid, and formats, eg. .3gp .avi .dat .mkv .wmv are supported.
Instead, it has no user interface is provided. But, it can be used without using the command prompt in Windows.
What you need to do is to download Movie Thumbnailer and run it through Windows Explorer by unzip all the files to a folder first. Then look for an executable file called mtn.exe.
Image in 3 columns with the same width will always be generated in that directory once you have drag and drop the video on the mtn.exe file.

The output of the generated result will be a jpg file in the same directory as the video file is located. This software is free and available for Windows and Linux.
