How to Move a Site Without Breaking SEO

It is very important for webmasters to plan properly before they want to move or transfer their site to another domain. Right steps need to be followed so that your new site won’t be loosing some organic juices from major search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing, in other word- visitors.

A program manager, Chris Moore from Microsoft was working on Search Engine Optimisation(SEO) during the Microsoft Value Professionals (MVP) SEO clinics. He was asked about best practices when moving a website from one domain to another, or from one subfolder to another in the host directories. Some important things to consider includes sitemap, 301 redirects, updates, etc. Therefore, he has created this infographic to illustrate the process steps we need to follow when moving a website.
