This extremely huge city runs on 100% renewable energy. It’s Saudi Arabia’s proposal to build a city which is 33x larger than NYC.

Known as NEOM, it is concept for a 10,230 sq mile city. The whole project plan will cost $500 billion and will be financed by the Saudi government and private investors.

The Saudi government want to diversify their economy, which has been damaged by the low oil prices.

The city would focus on industries like energy, biotechnology, food, manufacturing, and entertainment. Upon completion, this place is not only the place for conventional people or conventional companies, but also a place for dreamers that would like to create something new in the world.

The City would connect to Jordan and Egypt, making it a Mega City. NEOM’s first phase is slated to be completed by year 2025.
