Tyer Wind has created a new wind turbine design that draws inspiration from one of the most nimble creatures, the humming birds.

Created by a Tunisia-based company, it is called the Tyer Wind Converter. Instead of rotating, the short fins flap in a figure of 8, just like the motion of Hummingbird. This can produce less power than a standard wind turbine, but it takes up much less space making it better for populated areas. It’s really a great invention! Video here.
