This is a highly advanced technology called Low-Cost Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Swarming Technology (LOCUST) used by Army will use swarming autonomous drones to overwhelm enemies.

To enter the enemy bases, pack of drones are ejected from tube-based launchers that can be placed anywhere. Once Airbone, the UAVs fall into pre-programmed mission formations. They can communicate among themselves for collaborative action.

The office of Naval Research calls LOCUST the future of war. All the drones are autonomous, their mission will be monitored by a human.
